30 blog posts in 30 days

30 in 30 Nov 13, 2020

Following the success of challenges such as  180 websites in 180 days, which inspired 12 startups in 12 months, I thought to myself why not 30 blog posts in 30 days. If you research a bit on the Internet you will find out that there are a lot of challenges like these...the one that come close to mine is Jami Atternberg's 1000 words of summer, the difference is that hers is only for 14 days. NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) another writing challenge, is an attempt to write a total of 50000 words from Nov 1 to Nov 30.

As you can see my idea is pretty much similar to those above with a few twists. I have to say one thing though...committing to something everyday for 180days or every month for 12 months might not be something that I can easily achieve. Hence, I wanna start with a kinda small challenge first...committing to something for 30 days.

The plan is to write 1000+ words of blog posts each day from December 1 to December 30. This will give me an opportunity to challenge myself everyday for 30 days and hopefully by the end of it I will have 30 new blog posts to this blog which I launched August this year. The challenge will be a great opportunity for me to revive my blog which as of now it only has two blog posts and two drafts (unpublished) posts

If you're wondering where will I get all the ideas to write 1000 words everyday, here is a little secret. Since I began blogging after the launch of my blog, I have kept an Idea Book for my Blog, though I call it a book, this is a document where I put down any ideas I have of a blog post. Whenever I get an idea I put it down...It looks like this

Idea Book for the Blog
Idea Book for the Blog

That is just a short snippet...but those ideas go on and on for about a page or so. Mostly that's where I will get my ideas for the blog, am also hoping the journey itself might give me some new ideas.

The idea for the Idea Book for my Blog came from this book I was reading when I officially started to blog. Here is the book, Technical Blogging, 2nd Edition by Antonio Congiano.

So join me in this journey where I will be posting everyday for 30 days.

The best ideas have to win, otherwise good people don't stay!
